Do you regularly crave delicious, home-made cakes? Well, so do I.
My name’s Julia, and I absolutely love baking - apple cake with maple icing, banana bread, blueberry muffins, hazelnut brownies made with rye flour, cherry & polenta tart, orange & honey syrup cake, and the most evil chocolate birthday cake you’ll ever taste – all prepared by hand in my little kitchen using really good ingredients.
There is a limit to how many cakes I can force-feed to my kids and friends, so in order to satiate my addiction, I thought I could start baking stuff for ‘the public’ too! Feel free to browse through the mouth-watering photo gallery (its cake-porn), and check out my prices. If you live within a 2-3 mile radius of Kensal Green I can deliver for an extra £5 on top. As well as birthday cakes, I am equally happy to cater for tea parties (say you made them, take the credit – I won’t tell!) , or provide a one-off treat for those day’s when only cake will do, or while you’re watching telly on a chilly autumn evening. No excuse required!
I’m expanding my range of vegan and wheat-free options too, so if you have any special dietary requirements just give me a call – I love a challenge. And if you’re still hungry for more cake-based musings, please check out my blog for news, recipes, the odd useful hint, and much confectionery-focused wringing of hands.
18cm Birthday Cake (10 slices) £30
A light, moist chocolate cake made from butternut squash, ground almonds, rice flour, organic cocoa and unrefined caster sugar. The icing is made from mascarpone and only a tiny smidge of butter. Don’t be fooled though – it tastes every bit as more-ish as a traditional full-fat chocolate cake! Can be decorated to order, or topped with fresh raspberries or white chocolate rainbow drops.
